We make fewer watches on purpose.

Coin Vigilante builds mechanical watches from Bitcoin's history - in numbers small enough that every piece can be counted.

Founded in 2021

Where it started

Coin Vigilante started in 2021 with a Kickstarter and a simple question: what if a watch could stand for something you'd actually hold and believe in?

Backers in 15 countries put six figures behind the movement before a single watch had shipped. Five years later, every piece is still designed in the US and packed by hand in our shop in Beavercreek, Ohio.

Today, that movement takes us on the road - from Bitcoin conferences to community activations around the world - putting our watches directly in the hands of the people who believe in it.

Two ways we keep the numbers small

"Limited edition" is the most abused phrase in watches. Here is exactly what it means when we say it.

Capped editions

A capped edition has a fixed number decided before the first piece is made. Every watch in it is individually numbered. When the last one sells, the edition with its specific colorway is closed - no second batch, no re-release, no "back by popular demand."

The original Genesis with blue dial was 121 pieces. It sold out. It is not coming back. The Genesis Eclipse that followed is a new run of 121 with a different dial - not more of the same.

Short-run production

The Transparency Edition works differently. It isn't numbered and it isn't capped, but it isn't mass-produced either. We make it in small production runs, each one checked by hand before it ships. Some colorways come back. Some don't.

We tell you which is which on every product page.

The closed rows are the point. Anyone can promise scarcity. A sold-out edition is what it looks like when we meant it.

Every piece carries a moment in Bitcoin's history

The Bitcoin mark is on every dial. That's where it starts, not where it ends. Each edition is built around a specific moment in Bitcoin's story, and that moment lives in the details — an engraving, a headline, a date, a number. A watch should mean something to the person wearing it. These are made to.

Turn a Genesis over and you'll find its block height — a position in the chain no other piece shares. The Eclipse carries the Times headline on its caseback. The Falcon hides its serial number inside the rotor. Details you'd only notice if you knew to look.

The Eclipse replaces its minute and second markers with the Genesis Block hash and puts Satoshi's headline on the bezel: "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks." The 100K Edition marks the day Bitcoin crossed six figures. The Bitcoin 2025 Edition was made with Bitcoin Magazine for Las Vegas.

The meaning

Every edition is named for something. Transparency takes its name from the property that makes Bitcoin work — every transaction, verifiable by anyone. Our first, Satoshi's Vision, was named for where all of it began. Nobody buys these because they need to know the time.

We chose automatic movements because a watch that runs on your own motion is the right object for money that runs without a central bank. It also means these are watches a collector will recognise, not merchandise.

Every order is packed by hand in Ohio. In the box: the watch, a numbered certificate for capped editions, the manual, and the orange paper. Nothing outsourced.

Packed and Shipped by Us

Made by sound money enthusiasts

The financial system is broken. For the first time in history we have digital money that is able to respect the time and effort of your 9 to 5 job by protecting your purchasing power from the devaluation of fiat.

Not only does it protect your purchasing power, but sound money like Bitcoin is able to give back power to the individual by being completely decentralized, censorship resistant, and immutable.

No bank, no central authority, no government can devalue Bitcoin. They can't take control or tamper with your hard earned money. Only you have true ownership of your wealth.

This is what inspired us to create watches that signify the meaning an importance of sound money.

For every person who wears the Bitcoin watch, there is someone who becomes part of the movement towards freedom, the future of money, and the respect for time.
